Yvette Jay is an experienced and highly regarded interior architect and designer based in Auckland, New Zealand. Since completing her Bachelor of Architecture degree at the University of Auckland, she has worked across a wide range of residential and commercial interior design commissions around New Zealand.

Her professionalism and warm approach are enjoyed by all her clients. The design phase is a personal and bespoke experience, leading to an interior scheme which perfectly suits the needs and tastes of the owners.

Her philosophy is unbound by a set aesthetic and is stylistically diverse. Her look embraces the clients’ tastes, well proportioned spaces and elements, and refined comfort. The focuses is on timeless and unified interiors with layers of materials, textures, colours, key pieces, and a generous dollop of personality. The design service spans from concept to completion, with well documented solutions and attention to details at all levels of design and decoration.

Yvette is regularly commissioned by architects to bring the finer details of fabrics, finishes, and furnishings into harmony with the architecture. Her architectural training allows her to understand the drawings before a house is built, adding insight and value to the proposed scheme.

In addition to her interior design practice, she is a regular stylist for architectural photo shoots and local design magazines. Each assignment involves sourcing furniture and furnishings and overall styling to create the right look for the editorial photo shoots. She regularly writes about design for architecture and interiors publications, national news publications and has been a guest on The Living Channel.

Initial consultation An initial consultation is often a great way to get the ball rolling. Perhaps you are looking for a little inspiration and hands on styling advice to give your home a magazine worthy look? Or you are ready to start on the bigger undertaking of creating your dream home and are seeking direction and expert advice.

During the consultation meeting we will talk through what your dreams are and consider your budget, lifestyle, personal taste, and time frame to really understand the scope of your plans and vision.

After the consultation I will provide you with a written report that maps out your road to success for your brief, budget and time frame. As well, I will identify any obstacles and make recommendations for how I can help you.

Initial Consultations are $550.00 + GST and take about an hour or so at your home. This fee is applicable to consultations within the Auckland area. Consultations based outside of Auckland can be arranged on an individual basis.

Zoom consultations are also available for those who seek guidance and advice.
